I redesigned a National Geographic article, incorporating a custom layout, design elements, and accents. The fictional archaeological magazine, Unburied, uses illustrations to guide the reader’s attention toward key text. On the first spread, a figure positioned above looks down toward the article’s beginning and the “E.” On the second spread, two men over the body gesture toward the text while another figure’s gaze directs attention to the copy. I gained valuable experience applying layout design principles and visual hierarchy.
